About Us

Our roots trace back to 1992 with the founding of Environmental Probing Investigations, an environmental and geotechnical drilling company. As projects grew more complex, the need to better understand subsurface conditions and identify underground utilities to ensure safe project execution, led to the creation of EPI Geophysics in 2016. This expansion allowed us to integrate geophysical methods into site assessments, helping ensure safer, more informed drilling and excavation activities.

 

In 2026, EPI Geophysics acquired Advanced Geological Services, a firm with more than 30 years of experience specializing in advanced subsurface geophysical methods, private utility locating, and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR). This acquisition significantly expanded our technical capabilities, equipment and strengthened our ability to support early-stage site assessments, infrastructure planning, and redevelopment projects.

 

Today, operating as Advanced Geophysical Services (AGS), we bring together decades of field experience to provide a comprehensive suite of non-intrusive subsurface investigation services including GPR, utility locating and mapping, seismic methods, microgravity, electrical resistivity, borehole geophysics, and many other services. With in-house licensed P.G.s, we have supported projects throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, and beyond.
